David Flinchbaugh was born in York while family was living in the Backel House located at 219 W. King St York. Two blocks from the Golden Plow Tavern. The house was torn down some years ago and is now a York City Bus Terminal. I have many memories of this house and my Grandfather Backel. I also remember going into the Golden Plow Taver when it was a Cigar Store, then found to be a Historical Old German Building, and then preserved by the York Historical Soc. There was a Wooden Cigar Store Indian out front, now in the York Historical Building.
